Alan Dershowitz laments he’s lost ‘lots and lots’ of pals after blow-up with Larry David over Trump ties

August 23, 2021

A pretty, pretty strange scene that could have appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm played out in real life when Larry David cussed out Alan Dershowitz over his ties to former President Donald Trump during an encounter in a Martha’s Vineyard grocery store, Newsweek reports.

As also reported by Page Six and Raw Story—and confirmed by Dershowitz himself—the two former friends were spotting coming to blows at grocery store and community hub Chilmark General Store on the island, which is known to be a haunt of Democrat mainstays.

The Harvard Law professor is said to be persona non grata on the island due to his links with former President Donald Trump.

Appearing on Newsmax on Thursday night, August 19, the high-profile attorney was asked about the highly-publicized shouting match with the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star outside of the local grocery store.

According to the New York Post, David confronted the attorney—who had asked if they were still friends, and received a tongue-lashing in return.

“No,” the comedian reportedly shot back. “No. We really can’t. I saw you. I saw you with your arm around [Former Trump Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo! It’s disgusting!”

David then reportedly added, “It’s disgusting. Your whole enclave — it’s disgusting. You’re disgusting!”

During his Newsmax appearance, Dershowitz went on at length about his continued lack of popularity—after having served as a legal adviser to Trump—and even though he claims he voted for President Joe Biden in 2020.

“There I was having a cup of coffee with a friend on the porch of the Chilmark store, which is a kind of local gathering place a general store, and Larry starts screaming at me saying, you know—ah he just couldn’t control himself,” the attorney recalled. “I thought he was going to have a stroke.”

Noting Pompeo is a former student of his, Dershowitz continued, “He’s my former student; of course I’m going to pat him on the back and congratulate him for the work he has done. But that wasn’t enough for Larry David—I’m disgusting,” before pointedly adding he helped David’s daughter get into college.

Dershowitz continued, “I defended President Trump in front of the Senate and I patted Mike Pompeo on the back that’s enough to end a 25-year friendship,” before being asked if he feels like he feels being treated like a “traitor.”

“I’m a Democrat. I defended Ted Kennedy; I defend Senator Alan Cranston; I tried to help defend President Clinton—almost all of my clients who have been politicians have been Democrats—but because I also defended the constitution on behalf of Donald Trump that was enough,” he recalled, with Newsweek reporting, “Dershowitz went on to say he doesn’t mind being socially ostracized but that he has been ‘canceled’ by a number of local Chilmark institutions on Martha’s Vineyard including the library, community center, the book fair, and Hebrew center.”

With that, he claimed he’s lost “lots and lots of friends” over his Trump ties, before adding, “When you start blaming the lawyer because you don’t agree with the client, that’s McCarthyism.”

Andy Cohen seeks help in search for missing childhood friend who disappeared two weeks ago

June 7, 2021

Andy Cohen is asking for help finding a childhood friend who has been missing for two weeks, People magazine reports.

The Bravo star, 53, posted a missing person’s flier on Facebook after actor and playwright Andy Neiman disappeared from the MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York, on May 21.

The poster says that Neiman, 48, is “a missing vulnerable adult” who has schizophrenia. He was last seen wearing green hospital scrubs and glasses. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.

Cohen and Neiman went to the same camp, as well as the same high school, he told The New York Post’s Page Six.

“I’m praying for his safe return, along with a lot of folks in St Louis,” Cohen said.

GoFundMe campaign to spread awareness about Neiman’s disappearance, describes him as a “brother, son, friend, and father.”

Loved ones write that Neiman “has a history of mental illness and may be suffering from psychosis.”

“While we believe Andy is still in the local area, family, friends, search parties and police have been looking for four days and have not yet located him,” his loved ones wrote, adding that they are raising funds to hire a private investigator for the case.

Neiman has a nine-year-old daughter. In addition to being a loving dad, he is a “wonderful, spiritual guy” his sister, Emily Abramson, told Page Six.

“He is incredibly quirky with deep passions for a variety of things, especially the performing arts and Shakespeare,” she said. “His mind is greatly analytical.”

She added, “One of his talents is transmuting his understanding of Shakespeare to people of every age.”

People magazine urges anyone with information on Neiman’s disappearance to call the New York Missing Persons Clearinghouse at 1-800-346-3543.

Queen Elizabeth ‘delighted’ with two new corgi puppies

March 8, 2021

It’s good to be queen—but it might be even better to be her dog. Fox News reports that Queen Elizabeth has warmly welcomed two new dogs into her royal household, which has been lacking in corgi company since October 2018.

The news comes as the queen’s husband Prince Philip recovers after heart surgery; and ahead of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s searing tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey about their struggles within “The Firm,” set to air on Sunday.

What with all of her family problems, plus the pandemic currently besieging Britain, things have been “ruff” lately at Windsor Castle—but the monarch’s spirits are said to have been lifted by the corgi pups, Fox notes.

On Friday, NBC-TV’s  Today confirmed that the pets have joined the royal family. The ages, genders, and names of the new pups remains unknown.

“The Queen is delighted. It’s unthinkable that the Queen wouldn’t have any corgis,” a source told The Sun. “Both are said to be bringing in a lot of noise and energy into the castle while Philip is in hospital.”

The corgis were reportedly gifted to the 94-year-old monarch, and are believed to be the queen’s first not descended from Susan, the corgi she received for her 18th birthday in 1944.

The family has continued to breed dogs from Susan’s lineage, with Elizabeth owning at least 30 Pembroke Welsh corgis descended from her through the years. Whisper, the last of the royal line, passed away in October 2018.

Since then, Elizabeth has been kept company by a dorgi (a cross between a corgi and a dachshund) named Candy. Another dorgi named Vulcan passed away in November 2020, Page Six reports.

The dog-loving queen isn’t the only royal who’s recently welcomed a new furry friend into her life, Fox reports:  Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly adopted a cocker spaniel puppy  late last year, and the entire Cambridge clan is said to be “besotted” with the new addition.

Is the face familiar? Plastic surgeon Stephen Greenberg ‘unpacks’ Kellyanne Conway’s new look

June 25, 2020

Never mind the alternative facts she spouts in her position as White House spokesperson. What about her alternative face?

Senior White House Adviser Kellyanne Conway looked noticeably different during an appearance on the Fox News early morning talker Fox & Friends on Monday, June 22—causing speculation on social media that she may have had some work done.

Indeed, Page Six of The New York Post reported that some viewers “ … said it looked like the 53-year-old mom of four had been run through Zoom’s “Touch Up My Appearance” filter.

“In Hollywood, I believe we call that ‘refreshed,’” snipped actress Kristen Johnston, implying that Conway had gotten cosmetic work done.

Manhattan-based plastic surgeon Dr. Stephen Greenberg told Page Six that the White House counselor’s smoothed-out appearance could be the result of procedures—including “injections like Botox, and either fat transfer to the face or fillers, an upper and lower eyelid lift, face-lift and a nose job.”

Greenberg notes that her “cheekbones seem lifted and she doesn’t seem to have extra skin around her eyes” and that her “nose tip is more shapely and smaller.”
